United Parcel Service (UPS), a US-based shipping giant, has entered into a collaboration with Inxeption, an e-commerce technology company, to launch a blockchain-powered platform, the company announced on their website.
The new platform, called Inxeption Zippy, will be a result of the integration of UPS logistics into the Inxeption platform.
The aim of the partnership is to facilitate easier selling and shipping of products online for business-to-business (B2B) merchants. It will eventually enable merchants to monitor the entire supply chain – from listing to delivery. Two companies estimate that Zippy will save businesses between 20-40% in logistics and shipping costs.
“The growth of e-commerce is driving B2B buyers to expect the same fast and convenient shopping experiences that consumers enjoy. Working with Inxeption is another way we’re creating innovative solutions that helps small businesses deliver quality service for their customers and succeed in e-commerce”, said Kevin Warren, chief marketing officer for UPS.
Inxeption is an e-commerce company powered by blockchain technology which offers its solutions to businesses in order to make them more efficient, open new channels, and ultimately increase their sales. The San Francisco-based company was founded in 2017 by Farzad Dibachi and Terry Garnett.
“We’re revolutionizing B2B e-commerce and bringing companies and their customers together online in a trusted manner. This relationship creates simplified pricing solutions for B2B merchants with limited digital marketing and IT resources to easily manage all aspects of selling and shipping from one secure place,” said Dibachi, CEO of Inxeption.
According to the platform’s website, around 1,500 buyers, surveyed by UPS, listed free shipping as the main reason they opted for the e-marketplace.
Ziggy will help B2B merchants raise their profile as online sellers and increase their sales, while the use of USB logistics will help merchants ship their products in an easy and fast manner. As a result of the deployed blockchain technology, all transactions facilitated by Ziggy are trustworthy and secure.
According to SupplyChainDigital, UPS is the world’s biggest shipping company, in front of DHL and FedEx. Accordingly, UPS delivers more than 15 million packages a day.
