The devil Is not so black as he is painted.
Just like warrior needs his weapons when he goes to face his enemies, crypto community needs their gear when they face scammers. But if enemies of warriors do not necessarily hide, scammers always pretend to be your “friend” and want to offer you some “goodies”. Well, it's not a secret that an honest enemy is better than fake friends.
Scams and fraudulent schemes are, unfortunately, very common in the crypto community. Crypterium users also can become a victim of such attacks. In order to tackle this issue, we want to give you a special guide on how to protect yourself online.
This issue was way more significant in the past years. Many Crypto projects even had mirror websites. Now we have many websites and means to check and evaluate any projects. We suggest focussing on so-called 4Ts of the ICO, these components are major for any crypto project in general.
4Ts are following: Tech, Theme, Team and Token.
It is hard for non-professionals to implement a qualitative technology test, but you are welcome to ask any questions to the Crypterium team (even simple ones) and check the trustworthiness of the answers.
Here the possibility of product realization is estimated from the production point of view. The economic service and the competitive market evaluation is described in the theme. Crypterium users can always check our Road Map and up to date info on the website.
The list of our team members can be found here. You can also check their profiles on social media and see their connection to Crypterium.
If the project is created solely for the purpose of creating a tradable token, it is better to avoid such projects. Crypterium offers a wide range of services related to our token. The whole payment solutions are powered by CRPT and they are acting as a fuel every time a payment is done by a user.
In our community, another type of fraud is more widespread: scammers and fake accounts in social media. We have to deal with fakes mainly in Telegram. Some users might get strange private messages from so-called Crypterium representatives after joining official telegram chat. We regularly delete and report fakes but it's not enough because some scammers send direct messages to our users.
Scammers sometimes just change one letter or simply replace the same letter with the capital letter - L instead of l for instance. The account name is the one that cannot be mirrored so always pay attention to it.
Here is the list of our approved admins in the official chat:
Remember, our admins will never text you without prior notice, they will never invite you to any private sale’s and they certainly will never provide any services and ask money on “special terms”.
Here is an example of how a scammer used an identity of one of our team members and offered a fake “private sale” to the user.
If you will get any suspicious messages from another user, we suggest you block and report them. If possible, let us and the community know about this kind of situations as well.
Dear community members! Follow our tips and be very careful. Safety should always be at the top of your priorities. At Crypterium, we promise to block all fakes and anyone that will bother you in the official chat and/or our other social media pages.
