Crypterium card is a pre-paid card, linked to your wallet for a fast and smooth transfer of your funds from crypto to fiat. It comes in 2 variants: plastic one, for those, who appreciate traditions, and virtual one, for the future-oriented customers.

What is a Crypterium card?

The virtual Visa card substitutes your plastic card with all contactless purchases. However, opposite to a plastic analog, it cannot be used for ATM cash withdrawals at the moment.

Note: Since the virtual card cannot be used for ATM operation, it has no PIN code. You will only set up a secret phrase in the app, and get an OTP message when making a purchase.

The issue of a virtual card takes just a few seconds and it gets totally ready for purchases in under 20 minutes. It's a perfect temporary option if you are waiting for your plastic card.
A virtual card can be a perfect replacement for a plastic one in case of online purchases: you don’t need to worry about the card data used on some sites.
Apart from this, you don't spend any funds on card shipping, so if that’s your first card and you are not sure about some aspects, give it a try!

What's the difference between virtual and plastic cards?

We are constantly working on increasing the number of countries, where you can order the VISA card.

** The card monthly fee is withdrawn from the card balance every month starting a month from the date of card order confirmation. The card fee is returned as compensation in CRPT on your wallet at the beginning of the next calendar month if a monthly load amount is greater than 299 EUR. This amount is calculated during the calendar month period. 
 
Let’s see how it’s applied to a real-life!
Scenario 1: 
If the user performs transactions in EUR as ATM withdrawals. Suppose the user has 200 EUR on their cards. They then perform a 100 EUR cash withdrawal. The application deducts 100 EUR and the transaction appears as pending in the application. After 2 days, the transaction is cleared and the transaction fee is applied, along with a separate 4.6 EUR (3 EUR fix + 1.6%) commission fee.
Scenario 2: 
If the user performs transactions in another currency. Suppose the user has 100 EUR in their Cards. They perform a purchase worth 500 INR. The application deducts 500 INR, and the transaction appears as pending in the application. After 2 days, the transaction is cleared at the actual INR to EUR rate, and the foreign currency exchange fee (EUR to INR) of 2.5% will be applied to the total, as well as a separate 0.25 EUR commission fee.

Fill in the amount of the load. You can type in the crypto amount or/and fill in the desired EUR equivalent and the system will adjust the values accordingly.

The commission for the card load is 2% for both, plastic and virtual cards, and is charged in the crypto of the source. If you are agreed with the conditions and calculations, provided in your app, confirm the load by pressing the Load… button. Then, please confirm the transaction once more.

How to top up the card?

When you receive your plastic card, you need to activate it before using it. This procedure involves 2 steps: app card activation and ATM activation.
 
To activate your card in the app, please open the Card section and find the card in question. There you will find an Activate my card option as shown below:

Tap on the button and provide the app with the full card number. This will let our card provider know that your card has been successfully registered.

After that, please set up a secret phrase that will serve you as a password for your online purchase authorization.

Last but not least is the creation of a PIN code for your card. You will be asked to do so right away:

When activating your card, you will notice that there is a 1 EUR balance on it. We have credited this value to your account to help you with the ATM activation.

Tap on the Show near ATMs if you are not sure where you can make the last step.
Please, find an ATM machine, insert the card there and request the balance statement. Once you do that, your card will be fully ready for day-by-day usage!

How to activate a virtual card?

When performing transactions with the Card Visa:

<li style="font-weight: 400;">The transaction goes through the authorization process. This is standard banking practice.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">The funds are then put on hold as a pending transaction in the card history. The amount is debited from the user’s balance in the application.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">About 2 business days later, the original pending transaction will be recalculated and confirmed. The final charge is recalculated with the updated foreign currency exchange rate (if the transaction was originated in a currency different from EUR) and FX (foreign currency exchange) fees included and appears as posted in the user’s Wallet.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">
Another commission in accordance with our <a href="https://choise.com/help/360005368120/360021073719" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tariffs</a> is then posted as a separate transaction.

<li style="font-weight: 400;">The user’s final remaining card balance is then reflected in their Wallet.</li>

How do you process purchases with the card?

You can have up to 5 cards, including those that are temporarily blocked.

How many cards can I order?

Once your card has been sent, our card provider Walletto will notify you about that via email.
In the same email, you will receive a special tracking number for monitoring your card delivery. The tracking number option is totally free, and it’s available for the majority of countries in the European regon.
If you got a confirmation from Walletto with no tracking number, please don’t worry: the estimated time of your card arrival is about 20 days.

The card monthly fee (2,99 EUR) is withdrawn from the card balance every month starting a month from the date of card order confirmation.
The card fee is returned at the beginning of the next calendar month if a monthly load amount is greater than 299 EUR. This amount is calculated during the calendar month period combined with the load amount of all your cards.
Please note that the the compensation for the fee is credited as CRPT on your CRPT wallet.

How can I get a monthly fee back?

If there is some suspicious activity with your card, or you just want to limit the possibility to spend funds, credited on it, for any reason, you can block your card and unblock once the issue is resolved.
To block your card, please open the app and proceed to the Card section, located at the bottom of the page.

How to unblock my card?

We are sorry to hear that you have not received your card so far. The card delivery period depends on the country of your residence and the processing possibilities of your local post and may reach up to 14 business days.
If more than 14 business days have passed since the card has been sent to you, please try visiting your local post office, as sometimes they don’t properly notify customers about incoming packages.

I haven't received my card

All your online payments are protected with a new authentication protocol 3D Secure 2.0, which has 2 additional stop factors: a secret word that you set up in the app, and a unique OTP code sent to your mobile phone for the purchase authorization.
Thus, when confirming your online purchase, first you need to introduce the secret word/phrase, that has been set up in the app, and only then you will be prompted to fill in the SMS code.

I don't get an SMS to confirm my purchase

Definitely no!
If we couldn't charge the monthly fee for your active card/cards due to the lacking funds, we will deduct the fee for all the months when it hasn't been charged once you have sufficient balance on your card.

Can I have a negative balance due to the monthly fee?
